Wymondham's nearest Christmas rink opens 20 November at the Norfolk Showground, seven miles away: 1,000m² of covered real ice, skate hire and parking free.

There is no ice rink in Wymondham, Diss or Attleborough this Christmas. The nearest is the Winter Wonderland rink at the Norfolk Showground, on the western edge of Norwich, open from Friday 20 November 2026 to Sunday 3 January 2027. It is about seven miles from Wymondham, just off the A47 at the Longwater interchange. The organiser’s ice skating page describes just under 1,000 square metres of real ice under a cover, with skate hire included.

What skating costs

The organiser’s skating page sends you to its booking partner, SeeTickets, for a skate on its own. Those pages refuse automated readers, so we have not confirmed the 2026 session price. The prices the organiser prints on its own rides page:

Ticket Price
Tiny Thrills wristband (rides for children 90cm to 1.2m) plus one skating session £31.30
Ultimate Thrills wristband plus one skating session £44.90
Tiny Thrills wristband alone £20.90
Ultimate Thrills wristband alone £31.30

On those figures, adding a skate costs £10.40 with the Tiny Thrills band and £13.60 with the Ultimate Thrills band. Admission to Winter Wonderland itself is free, but the organiser says entry tickets must be reserved online.

The rink

  • Real ice, just under 1,000 square metres, under a covered roof, so it runs in the rain.
  • Skate hire is included, the organiser says.
  • Skate aids are available for younger children and beginners.
  • Alongside it are the rides, an observation wheel, a Christmas market and Santa’s grotto.

Getting there from Wymondham

By car, the showground is just off the A47 Norwich Southern Bypass at the A1074 Longwater interchange, and the organiser’s home page says parking is free for 2026. Its find us page gives NR5 0TP for sat nav. Check our roadworks and travel page before you set off.

By bus, the organiser says Konectbus service 4 and First’s Excel buses stop outside the showground. Neither is a direct Wymondham service, so from town it means changing in Norwich. By train, Norwich station is about seven miles from the showground, the organiser says.

If you stay in town instead, our parking in Wymondham page has the car parks and their charges for the Christmas lights on 26 November and Wynterfest on 6 December.
