All 18 South Norfolk food businesses rated from 25 September to 9 October got five, including six in and around Wymondham. The full list, by town.
Every food business South Norfolk Council rated in the past fortnight got the top score. Eighteen ratings were added to the register between 25 September and 9 October, and all 18 were fives.
Six of them are in Wymondham or just outside it. That is what the Food Standards Agency register showed for the South Norfolk Council area when we read it on 10 October.
One caution before the lists. Low ratings often reach the register a few weeks after the inspection, because a business has 21 days to appeal first. So a run of fives does not prove nobody did badly this month.

The low scores still on the register
No South Norfolk business has been given a rating below three since 23 July. The three most recent low scores, all from July, still stand on the register:
- Hingham Fish Bar & Kebab House, Hingham: rated 1 on 23 July
- Bressingham Village Store, High Road, Bressingham: rated 1 on 8 July
- Time Out Coffee Ltd, Victoria Road, Diss: rated 2 on 7 July
A business can ask for a re-inspection once it has made improvements, so these scores can change. Each rating stands until the next inspection.
What it means for you
- Check before you book. Every rating on this page links to the register, which shows the scores for hygiene, the building and management.
- A five is the norm, not a bonus. Of the 1,003 South Norfolk businesses with a numeric rating, 852 hold a five and 17 are below three, so a low score is the thing worth noticing.
- The register lags. A rating appears only after the appeal window, so a fresh inspection may not show for a few weeks.
